Favorite song from "The Deepest Dark"

Name your fave song(s) from Monte's solo debut album!

Mine are probably "Rain is Falling" and "Under the Same Sun"! I love the heavy riffs from "Rain", it's a total ear-catcher but I also love the "happier" solo riffs from "Sun"... it's amazing how the songs have only acoustic guitars but feel like they have more instruments!

Well it's so hard to narrow down to my fav songs because i love them all! I too like Under the Same Sun, Rain is Falling, Where the Heavens Drown and Colours Wash Away. I absolutely love the combo of The Murdered Race with Once Again!!!! The way Monte performed these together at the Boston House Party was so achingly beautiful tht i was holding my breath!!!

"Under the Same Sun" is probably my very favorite, with "Cold" and "The Rain is Falling" close behind!

I am also so intrigued by "Through the Breezes" and Monte's fascination with the Black Rabbit. I have had rabbits for many years and was amazed to see this theme from Watership Down (the magnum opus of rabbit literature - ha) crop up in Monte's music and even in his tattoo art. Has Monte ever explained his connection with the Black Rabbit? I would love to know.

I am so obsessed with Out of the Black that I have lyrics tattooed on my back.

But the more I listen, the more I fall in love with Under the Same Sun.

I also have quite the thing for Through the Breezes. And, Where the Heavens Drown will always hold a special place in my heart,

Watched them in Brooklyn last year... And the song that lingered is Rain Is Falling. It's my all-time favorite. Definitely love it! :oops:
